Indian and Pakistani officials on Thursday decided to resume the stalled LoC bus service but there was no agreement on ending the cross LoC trade standoff over alleged seizure of heroin from a Pakistani truck.

The bus service between Jammu and Kashmir and Azad Kashmir will resume from February 2, said officials.

Officials expect a breakthrough on the trade standoff too.

The Baramulla deputy commissioner said the atmosphere at the meeting between him and his counterpart from Azad Kashmir was positive and a breakthrough on trucks will be arrived soon.

Pakistan stopped cross LoC trade after a Pakistani driver was arrested on the Indian side on charges of smuggling large amounts of heroin on the Uri sector on January 17.

Since then, 49 Pakistani truck drivers were detained in Uri while 27 Indian truckers were detained in Chakoti in Azad Kashmir.
