Country to be purged of terrorism at all costs: PM

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday showed determination that terrorism would be eliminated from the country at all costs.
Addressing elected representatives of Balochistan in Quetta‚ he said terrorists behind attacks on buses would be brought to justice.
He said arrangements were being made to introduce air and ferry services for the pilgrims. PIA will also start special flights for them, he added.
The PM said Youth Business Loans would be disbursed on the basis of population and right of one province would not be given to the other.
He said the government was working to address problems relating to agriculture‚ energy and law and order. Nawaz said communication projects worth Rs 8 billion were being launched in Balochistan.
The province will take 90 percent benefit of the Kashgar-Gwadar corridor which would create jobs and end sense of deprivation of the Baloch.
Separately, during his visit to corps headquarters, Nawaz said that the army and politicians needed to adopt a joint strategy to bring peace to Balochistan. He was accompanied by Balochistan Governor Muhammad Khan Achakzai‚ Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik‚ Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar, Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party chief Mehmood Khan Achakzai, Gen (r) Abdul Qadir Baloch and Mir Hasal Khan Bazingo.
On the occasion, Southern Command Commander Nasir Khan Janjua gave a detailed briefing on the situation and security in Balochistan.
The PM also exchanged views with the provincial government and national leadership regarding the situation in Balochistan. The PM lauded the role of security forces and said that forces were playing their role to protect the lives of the people.
Earlier, the PM prayed for the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for peace and elimination of terrorism. Nawaz also laid the foundation stone of four highway projects in Quetta.
The projects include M-8 motorway connecting Gwadar‚ Turbat and Khushab; National Highway N-50 between Qilla Saifullah and Zhob; N-25 connecting Qalat‚ Quetta and Chaman; and N-85 between Sorab and Khushab.
