The Sindh High Court on Wednesday issued stay order against the project initiated for mining the coal reservoirs in Thar.
The Sindh High Court (SHC) issued the stay order on commencement of Thar coal mining project till February 6. The court has sent notices to the provincial chief secretary, secretary coal and energy and other governmental officials.
It is pertinent to add that the project had to be jointly inaugurated by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and former president Asif Ali Zardari on January 31.
