Three Rangers men killed in attacks on Rangers in Nazimabad

KARACHI-

Three persons, including 2 personnel of the Pakistan Rangers Sindh and one civilian, were killed when a suicide bomber blew himself up while attempting to enter the Rangers Headquarters in North Nazimabad here on Wednesday.
According to the PRO Sindh Rangers, Rangers troop deployed at the security post of the Ranger Headquarters intercepted a suicide bomber who was trying to enter in the HQs.
Upon being stopped by the security personnel, the bomber blew up himself.
Sepoy Muhammad Umair and Sub-Inspector Javed Iqbal embraced martyrdom in the incident.
A private security guard was also killed in the blast while one civilian was injured.
The martyred personnel who foiled the attempt of the attacker will be awarded the highest Rangers Gallantry Award.
Earlier on Wednesday, two attacks on security personnel killed one Ranger man and injured at least six others.
A Rangers check post was targeted in a blast while another attack targeted a police van in Nazimabad.
According to rescue workers, six people sustained injuries in the attack. Four Rangers personnel were also among the injured who were shifted to a hospital where Lance Naik Ateeq-ur- Rehman breathed his last during medical treatment.
Following the attack, police and Rangers teams reached the sites of attacks and cordoned off the area for investigations.
Also on Wednesday, Rangers and Sindh Police conducted a search operation in Shah Latif town, a residential locality in the outskirts of Karachi.
Six suspects were held in the raids, including two activists of a banned militant faction.
