Solving ‘identity issues’ of the overseas

CNICs to overseas Pakistanis being issued on time, says Balighur Rehman

National Assembly (NA) was informed Tuesday that National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) is ensuring timely issuance of national identity cards to the overseas Pakistanis.

Responding to a call attention moved by Farhana Qamar and others in the NA, Minister of State for Interior Muhammad Balighur acknowledged that some delay was witnessed in the processing of CNICs by overseas Pakistanis about seven months ago but the present government took serious notice of the issue and the matter stands resolved now. He said CNICs to overseas Pakistanis are being issued in ten days on payment of urgent fee while those paying normal fee are being given the identity cards in forty days time.

Meanwhile three bills were introduced in the National Assembly as the house conducted private members business. The bills include Constitution (Amendment) Bill, 2014, Criminal Law (Amendment) Bill, 2014 and Education of the Holy Quran According to Recitation by Sighting and with Translation, Learning by Heart and with Correct Pronunciation Bill.
