IK regrets KP govt’s involvement in Malala book launch stoppage

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Tuesday regretted over the media reports suggesting that the launch of Pakistani teenage activist Malala Yousufzai’s book was stopped after ‘intervention’ by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government.

“I am at a loss 2 understand why Malala’s book launch stopped in Peshawar. PTI believes in freedom of speech/debate, not censorship of ideas,” the PTI chief said his message on Twitter.

According to media reports a ceremony to launch Malala Yousufzai’s book ‘I am Malala’ scheduled at the University of Peshawar on Tuesday was stopped by the university after intervention by the KPK provincial government.

An education foundation had planned the ceremony.
