Fazl wants APC for consensus on Taliban talks

Chief of his own faction of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Fazlur Rehman on Tuesday called for conducting All Parties Conference (APC) to develop a consensus over talks with Taliban ahead of any military operation against them.

Speaking to media, the JUI-F chief said that the ‘national consensus’ existed over the matter of negotiations with militant groups however ‘solo flight’ of a party was deteriorating the situation.

He claimed that FATA jira is a better platform and could be helpful for peace talks, adding that progress in peace talks could not be achieved due to lack of an appropriate method.
