6391 challans issued, 287 vehicles impounded under special drive
Rawalpindi City Traffic Police (RCTP) have issued 6391 challan tickets during the current month, recovering over Rs 1.9 million fine for tinted glass or not having proper number plates or without number plates.
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Superintendent Police (SP) Syed Ishtiaq Shah, in a statement on Sunday, said 287 vehicles and motorcycles were also impounded in different police stations under the special campaign against violators of traffic laws.
He said the CTP, in view of the security situation, started the special campaign and took action in accordance with the law against vehicles with tinted glass and those which did not have proper number plates. The CTO said fine was imposed on 354 vehicles for having tinted glass during the period and black papers were removed on the spot. Some 2847 vehicles and motorcycles, which were without number plates, and 3190 others with improper number plates, were penalized.
