At least two people were killed and 14 others sustained injuries when a passenger bus overturned on a main thoroughfare of Chakwal on Sunday.
Police and rescue officials said the incident took place outside Chakwal city where a passenger bus went out of the driver’s control and overturned on a sharp turn.
A pedestrian and a passenger of the bus were killed on the spot while 14 passengers were injured in the mishap, officials added.
Rescue teams arrived at the scene and shifted those wounded to Chakwal District Headquarters Hospital.
Four seriously injured people were shifted to Rawalpindi in a critical condition.
According to police, over-speeding with the intention of racing with another bus was caused the accident.
