Pakistan Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique has said the government supports dialogue with those who are willing for it but not with bombers.
Talking to the media on a PR Inter-Divisional Sports closing ceremony at PR Stadium on Saturday, he said the government’s strategy was clear about dialogue and it will not talk to those who wanted to kill innocent people in bomb blasts. He said the government could not remain silent on target killings or bomb blasts and the security forces would respond in the same manner to any attack.
To a question on statements by Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Syed Munawar Hassan and PTI Chairman Imran khan, he said they should have told the terrorists to stop killing innocent people in suicide bombings instead of urging the government to start dialogue.
Talking about the PR deficit, he said the present team could make minor improvements in some sectors, however, more efforts were needed in education and health sectors of the railways.
On security in trains, he said the administration was taking measures to provide security in trains and at platforms but it needed funds.
Earlier, the minister was warmly welcomed by PR sports board officials and players in the stadium and he was introduced to the players. Later, the minister gave away trophies and awards to teams and players.
