Rawalpindi on terrorists’ hit-list: RPO

Rawalpindi Regional Police Officer (RPO) Akhtar Umer Lalaika has said that Rawalpindi city is at the hit list of terrorists and slum areas surrounding the twin cities serve safe havens for these miscreants.

Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, Lalaika admitted that a large number of foreigners have purchased property in Rawalpindi, Taxila and other surrounding areas. He said that sanctuary in slum areas help the terrorists to execute their subversive activities.

The RPO said that investigation of terror activities so far occurred link with kachi aabadis. He said that suggestion to launch interrogation of Rawalpindi RA Bazaar suicide blast under newly enacted Protection of Pakistan Ordinance (PPO) was under consideration.
