Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain said the government and armed forces should take strict action against terrorists in the interest of the nation.

In a telephonic address to party workers from London on Saturday, the MQM leader urged the government and army to take a firm stand over the menace of terrorism, adding that the entire nation would support them.

Hussain alleged that there were certain political parties that continuously sided with militant groups and demanded law against the political parties who support suicide attackers.

He warned that any further delay in dealing with terrorism would cause irrevocable damage to the country.

Pakistan is in the grip of rampant terrorist attacks and sectarian violence which occurs on a regular basis.

On Jan 19, the Taliban bombing in Bannu on a security check post killed over 20 while a day later another bombing near the army’s headquarter in Rawalpindi killed over 10.

On Jan 21, a blast in a bus carrying Shia pilgrims killed over 25 people in Balochistan’s Mastung area.

Apart from bombings, assaults on polio teams were also frequent during the past few days.
