An Al-Qaeda inspired group in Egypt claimed responsibility on Saturday for four bombings targeting police in Cairo that killed six people the day before.
Ansar Beit al-Maqdis, or Partisans of Jerusalem, also called in its statement for Muslims to stay away from police buildings.
On Friday, in a string of attacks, a suicide car bomber blew himself up in the parking lot of a top security compound in central Cairo, killing four persons.
Hours after the attack, a crude explosive device killed one policeman and wounded nine others in another Cairo neighbourhood, the Interior Ministry said in a statement.
A third explosion went off near a police station in Giza, a large district on the outskirts of Cairo. One person was killed in the attack.
