A court on Friday sent a woman accused of torturing her maid, Munazza, to jail on a 14-day judicial remand.
Earlier, the Racecourse woman police produced the accused, Mariam, before a Cantonment court and sought a five-day physical remand.
However, her counsel opposed physical remand.
Judicial Magistrate Munawar Hussain after hearing arguments of both parties sent the accused to jail on judicial remand.
Defence-B police registered a case on complaint of victim’s father Mansha against Mariam and her husband Sikandar for torturing his 12-year-old daughter on suspicion of theft. The police handed over the accused Mariam to Racecourse women police after arresting her, but Sikander is still at large.
