The spokesperson of Pakistan foreign office on Thursday said that the Spanish government contacted Prime Minister’s Adviser on Foreign Affairs and National Security Sartaj Aziz and expressed its gratitude for protecting Spanish citizens.
On Wednesday, at least seven Levies personnel died while protecting a Spanish tourist from kidnappers in Mastung area of Balochistan. The Spaniard was injured in the attack.
Speaking to media representatives during a weekly press briefing, FO spokesperson Tasneem Aslam also talked about Wednesday’s meeting between Foreign Secretary Abdul Basit and India’s High Commissioner to Pakistan Dr T. C. Raghavan.
She said that the two officials discussed matters of trans-LoC trade and bus services between the two countries.
Regarding the visit of the Indian trade minister Anand Sharma to Pakistan, Aslam said Pakistan was not aware of the dates of his trip as yet.
