IGFC says miscreants in Balochistan are not estranged but militants

Inspector General Frontier Corps (IGFC) Balochistan Major General Muhammad Ejaz Shahid on Wednesday said that militants attacking forces in Balcohistan should not be termed ‘estranged Baloch.’
During a meeting of Senate’s Standing Committee on Interior, Shahid said that the attackers are not estranged Balochs but militants.
“Local administration and politicians are with us in the day and are with the militants in the night”, he said.

He said that as many as 360 security forces’ personnel were martyred during the last few years.

The IGFC also lamented over the situation of the forces, saying that they operate in horrible conditions but the government cuts their budget and does not compensate the families whose sons die for the country.

He also expressed anguish over the fact that politicians arrested by FC with recovered explosive materials are bailed by the courts.
Chairman senate committee said that intelligence agencies from India are involved in Balochistan.

The committee recommended providing a new helicopter for FC and decreasing budget cuts for it.
