On alarming increase in theft and robberies, Provincial Minister for Labour and Manpower Raja Ishfaq Sarwar has directed the police to enhance security and patrolling in Murree and Kotli Sattian.
The provincial minister ordered to establish new police stations and check posts in the areas, besides increasing the number of personnel. He issued the directives during a meeting in the commissioner office to review law and order situation.
Ishfaq Sarwar said that Murree is the most famous tourist place in the country, therefore concrete steps be taken for the security of the tourists and local residents and detail plan be prepared in this regard. He also directed to preserve the historical building of Murree Police Station, which was constructed in 1882.
According to reports, establishment of a new police station at Gulehra Gali near Murree is under consideration to curb anti-social activities in the area.
