Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) on Saturday disconnected the electricity in the Chiragh area of Nowshera.
The area is said to be a stronghold of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Minister Shah Farman.
Minister of State for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali has alleged that the PTI minister was involved in power theft. He also said that Farman announced in his constituency not to pay the electricity bills. He was of the view that there were Rs 1.35 billion line losses in the constituency.
Last week, the state minister had alleged the KP government of power theft which was denied by the KP government.
This action is likely to create more tension between the PML-N and PTI.
