Three persons lost their lives on Saturday when the convoy of a leader of Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ) was attacked by unidentified gunmen in Sargodha, a private news channel reported.
According to police, Deputy Chief of ASWJ Punjab chapter Maulana Abdul Hameed Khalid was on his way to Sargodha from Bhakkar for a hearing at an anti-terrorism court when unknown assailants opened fire on his car.
Three persons were killed in the attack while Khalid and one other person were critically injured. The victims were shifted to a local hospital.
Police force cordoned off the area and launched an investigation.
