Pakistan and India are working to allow three banks to set up branches on each other’s soil to normalise trade relations and boost commerce.
Commerce Minister Khurram Dastgir said on Friday that the major hurdle in the way of normalising trade ties is very restricted visa regime. He was giving interview to Inidan Wire Service where he said that the State Bank of Pakistan has written to the Reserve Bank of India that three banks would like to open their branches in India.

On the other hand, quasi-state owned National Bank of Pakistan and privately-owned United Bank Ltd were selected for running full-banking operations in India, once the license was granted by the country.
