The Pakistan People’s Party’s (PPP) Patron-in-Chief Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, along with former president Asif Zardari is expected to visit Lahore in the first week of February.
The PPP sources disclosed that it would be a brief visit on the part of the top PPP leadership in which Bilawal will attend various party meetings. Bilawal Bhutto will also get briefing on the party’s organisational matters.
The PPP’s General Secretary Latief Khosa informed that in coming month, the PPP will hold three public meetings in the Punjab. These meetings, all featuring Asif Zardari, will be held in Lahore, Multan and Bahawalpur and will be part of the party’s efforts to reactivate the party in the Punjab.
Khosa, however, was not sure if Bilawal Bhutto will be accompanying Zardari in these activities, probably due to the security concerns.
Khosa said besides reactivating the party machinery in the province, these public meetings will be the start of the party’s preparation for upcoming local bodies’ polls.
Khosa said that provincial government had no right to put the LB polls on hold for an indefinite period.
