A man was killed and four others sustained multiple bullet injuries in a firing incident near Serai Kharbuza area on Thursday.
According to police sources, a man named Muhammad Deen who was accused of a murder case along with his companions was going to Rawalpindi from Taxila, and when their car reached near Serai Kharbuza some unidentified armed men opened fire at them.
Police said that Muhammad Deen was killed on the spot while four persons, including his son, sustained injuries.
The assailants managed to flee the scene after the incident. The deceased and injured were shifted to polyclinic hospital. The police said that the incident might be result of old enmity. The police have started investigation.
