Funeral prayers for Nawabshah accident victims offered

Seventeen victims of the deadly collision between a school bus and truck in Nawabshah on Wednesday were laid to rest in a local graveyard in the presence of hundreds of people amid heart wrenching echoes of cries and tears.
Grief-stricken scenes were witnessed at the funeral of the victims at Daulatpur Bypass.
A large number of people from all walks of life attended the funeral procession. Renowned cleric Mufti Akmal offered the funeral prayer.
At least 23 persons including 18 students and three teachers were died when their school bus collided with a dump-truck coming from opposite direction on Qazi Ahmed Link Road on Wednesday afternoon. The bus driver and conductor were also among the deceased.
The children, aged between 10 to 16 years, were the students of Bright Future School from Daulatpur suburb and had come to Nawabshah for a school trip.
The ill-fated bus was on its way back to Daulatpur when it met the tragic accident. The bus was completely destroyed in the accident. Several injured students are still in critical condition in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in Peoples Medical College Hospital (PMCH).
