The special court for treason trial of former president Pervez Musharraf on Friday announced that the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) would apply in the proceedings of the case, private news channel reported.
On January 8, Head of the prosecution, Advocate Akram Sheikh argued before the court saying according to a ruling issued by the Supreme Court, all crimes under the Army Act fall under Pakistan’s penal court. He also added that the special court enjoys the powers equivalent to those of a High Court.
The bench headed by Justice Faisal Arab reserved its ruling on the application of criminal laws on the case until January 10 (today).
Also on Friday, the special court dismissed a plea seeking stay order against verdict issued on Thursday for summoning the former president to court on January 16 for the treason trial.
The court remarked that it does not have the power to change its own verdict.

  1. Musharraf always boasted I am not afraid of any body why he is escaping to appear before the court,Is he still waiting the army will come to his rescue?

    • Mastana Sahib,
Ofcourse General Musharaf is not afraid. He is not waiting for anyone to come to his
      rescue.

He is just waiting for a fair trial to clear his name, but there is nothing fair in Pakistan.

      • who is going to conduct fair trials by Pakistani courts, every one has to accept what ever trials & convictions by highcourt & supreme courts can it be possible that one should have judges of his choice?

  2. @LOVE U PAKISTAN
If he was not afraid he would not have given the interview that military is with him
Its below his “so called dignity” to appear infront of a “civilian court”
What he did was “fair” ?
Now be honest a guy who left after giving the nation NRO should be treated as a criminal!!
Now look at your neighbors their generals win wars not win battles with their own elected governments! Their civilian govt have been very corrupt but they kept with democracy while we were given martial law doses repeatedly. Look where India stands where we are standing, its politicians fault but more than that its an organized crime of the custodians of the borders and ummah and islam! They failed in all three!

  3. For those who want a fair trial and don’t like current judges, we could borrow some judges from BD or SA or Iran. What say you?
