Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain on Wednesday said former president Pervez Musharraf was not going to run away from the special court as the former president earlier had appeared before a civil court.
Speaking to media, he reiterated that those who altered the constitution should not be called traitors instead they should be termed violators of the constitution and he had suggested an amendment in the constitution to highlight this fact.
He also said ‘all’ should be tried whether the trial begins from October 12, 1999 or November 9, 2007.
Separately, PPP Senator Rehman Malik supported Shujaat’s suggestions of widening the scope of treason trial.
Talking to reporters outside the Parliament House, Malik said that Shujaat’s offer of presenting himself for trial is laudable.

He said that if Musharraf was in better health condition then he should appear in the court to face and defend the allegations.
Malik said, “There is an independent judiciary in the country and we must wait for courts decision instead of putting ears on speculation and guesses.”
He claimed that widening of the treason case investigation could help in ending the dictatorship in the country for good.
