At least a dozen people ended up in the hospital unconscious after consuming unhygienic food in the wee hours of Thursday.
The incident, suspected to be a case of food-poisoning, was reported from Landhi, a populous eastern district of the metropolitan.
According to rescue sources, at least 12 such cases have been rushed to the hospital so far. “None of the victims, ambulanced to the emergency room, was able to carry him/herself”, they added.
Police have started investigating the case.
