Karachi Crime Investigation Department (CID) police claimed killing a trio of suspected outlaws belonging to the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) on early Thursday morning.
“The policemen, who busted a terrorist hideout in Mangho Pir area, following a promising lead, were met with heavy armed resistance”, said Chaudhry Aslam, a senior CID official.
The suspected militants fought with the police and exhausted all their ammo, which let the CID men take charge, Aslam said further.
“The shots fired by the cops left the terrorists seriously wounded and they were immediately rushed to a hospital where they were pronounced dead”, said Chaudhry Aslam, a senior CID official.
They died of excessive bleeding from multiple bullet wounds on the way to the emergency room, the hospital sources said.
He said the slain felons were cop-killers and wanted for multiple counts of murder and extortion.
Aslam also revealed that this successful encounter headed off a major terror bid as law enforcers seized a car-loaded with explosives along with a huge cache of firearms after thoroughly searching the den.
A policeman also sustained injuries in the armed encounter, he added.
