Chief minister and cabinet members of Gilgit Baltistan call on the President

A delegation of Cabinet members of Gilgit Baltistan led by its Chief Minister Syed Mehdi Shah today called on President Mamnoon Hussain at the Aiwan-e-Sadr.

The delegation besides Chief Minster GB included Muhammad Jafar, Mr. Muhammad Ali Akhtar, Dr. Ali Madad Sher, Mr. Muhammad Ismail, Mr. Bashir Ahmad Khan, Haji Gulbar Khan, Mr. Muhammad Naseer Khan, Raja Muhammad Azam Khan, Mr. Deedar Ali, Sheikh Nisar Hussain, Mr. Aftab Haider and Mr. Muhammad Ali Yougvi.

Mr. Muhammad Barjees Tahir, Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit Baltistan was also present during the meeting.

Overall situation in Gilgit Baltistan came under discussion during the meeting.

The Chief Minister Gilgit Baltistan briefed the President about developmental activities in GB and the various steps being taken for the welfare and uplift of the people of the area.

The President said that the federal government accords high priority to the development of Gilgit Baltistan and assured that all possible steps will be taken for the wellbeing of the people of Gilgit Baltistan.

The delegation appreciated the keen interest of the President in development of Gilgit Baltistan and lauded the various measures being undertaken by the federal government for the development of the area.

APO secretary general calls on the president:

Mr. Mari Amano, Secretary General, Asian Productivity Organization (APO), called on President Mamnoon Hussain at the Aiwan-e-Sadr today.

Mr. Mari Amano apprised the President about Asian Productivity Organization, Japan, its various activities and projects aimed at enhancing productivity in various sectors of economy in Pakistan.  He informed that Asian Productivity Organization (APO) -Japan is a Regional Intergovernmental Organization, established in 1961, comprising of 20 member countries with the mission to contribute to the socio economic development of Asia Pacific region through mutual cooperation by enhancing productivity of all economic sectors, enabling APO member countries to become more productive and competitive.

The President appreciated APO’s role in promoting productivity-related activities for strengthening economic sectors of Pakistan with special emphasis on industrial, services, public, agriculture, energy efficiency, social and research sectors.

The President noted with satisfaction that Pakistan is one of founding members of APO and currently enjoys the status of the Vice Chair of Governing Body of APO.

Mr. Mari Amano, Secretary General, (APO) thanked the President for meeting and assured that APO in collaboration with the National Productivity Organization (NPO) of Pakistan will continue to play its active role in promoting productivity and strengthening various economic sectors of Pakistan.
