MNA Dr Vankwani enraged over Hindu girls’ kidnapping

Member National Assembly (MNA) Dr Ramesh Kumar Vankwani, head of Pakistan Hindu Council, has expressed resentment over the rise of Hindu girls’ kidnapping, forced conversion and marriage.

Talking to the media men outside the Parliament House on Tuesday, Dr Vankwani termed such events an internal threat to the integrity of Pakistan. He said that silence on these issues will encourage criminals to roam freely around the country.

“Sapna Rani, a Hindu teacher from Peshawar, has been recovered after 15 days with the active support of the media and civil society,” he said, also condemning the recent kidnapping of Lucky Bhel, a Hindu woman from Sindh who was reportedly forced to marry a ‘mureed’ (disciple) of a local ‘peer’ (religious leader).

Dr Vankwani said that Quaid-e-Azam had promised minorities their rights and the Constitution also guaranteed their protection. He announced that he will keep supporting the victim families, raising their voice on every forum including the Parliament.
