Defence Secretary General (r) Asif Yasin Malik has said that Pakistan Army has no connection with the trial of former president Pervez Musharraf in the special court.

Talking to journalists after the meeting of National Assembly Standing Committee on Defence at the Parliament House on Tuesday, Malik said the trial was taking place in a special court under Article 6 of the Constitution and Pakistan Army has no concern with it.

He said it was purely a court matter and made it clear that army was not interfering in the trial.

In reply to a question, Malik said that Pakistan Army has neither any interest in the treason case against Musharraf nor there is any army personnel among the judges of the special court.

Malik said that Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology (AFIC) is considered as the best hospital in the world for cardiac treatment and many people come from abroad for treatment at the hospital. He said the former president should be satisfied with the treatment being given to him.
