A former Naib Nazim was shot dead by unknown persons on Tuesday in Mingora, a private news channel reported.
According to reports, Shahdara Union Council’s ex-Naib Nazim Shah Zaman was attacked by unknown assailants when he was inside his shop. The attackers opened fire on Zaman, injuring him critically and fled the scene.
Zaman was rushed to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Police have launched a search operation to find the attackers.
Shah Zaman was elected as Naib Nazim of Union Council from Shahdara in local bodies elections of 2005.
