Verdict on EOBI corruption case on 20th: SC

While seeking a detailed report from the FIA in EOBI corruption case, the Supreme Court (SC) on Monday remarked that it would announce its decision in the case on January 20.
A three-member bench led by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Tassaduq Hussain Jillani took up for hearing the EOBI corruption case on Monday.
FIA Director (legal) Azam Khan told the court that matters have been finalised to considerable extent with reference to the case, but it would take some time to work out a final report. He, however, said the report would be completed within 10 days.
Irfan Qadir, counsel for DHA, told the court Rs 52 million were withdrawn under employees salary head and the situation was getting better. Therefore, the case may please be decided early, he prayed. The employees are facing problems due to delay, he added.
Jillani remarked, “We hope much that we will render decision on conclusion of case on January, 20 and will dispose of the matter.”
