Two policemen guarding ANP leader shot dead

Two policemen deputed for the security of Awami National Party’s (ANP) local leader Razaq Boneri were shot dead in the BaldiaTown area when unidentified gunmen opened fire on Sunday.

The police said that the assailants hurled a hand grenade at a shop owned by Boneri and subsequently opened indiscriminate fire, injuring the two policemen Abdul Rahim and Muhammad Khan in MadinaTown area of BaldiaTown.

The policemen succumbed to their injuries on way to the hospital. They said that the assailants also took away arms of the policemen. The bodies were shifted to a local hospital for medico-legal formalities. On Saturday, three policemen were gunned down in different parts of the city.
