At least 14 people were killed when a building under construction collapsed in the western Indian state of Goa on Sunday.
Dozens are feared trapped after the five-storey apartment building fell in the town of Canacona, Indian media say.
At least 40 people – mostly construction workers – are said to have been on the site at the time of the incident. Rescuers are digging through the rubble in search of survivors.
The news agency quoted Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar as saying police would arrest the “builder, the contractor and municipal officials involved in sanctioning this construction site”.
Soldiers have been deployed to help with the rescue efforts, according to reports.
There is no word on the cause of the collapse.
