Former president General (r) Pervez Musharraf’s lawyer Ahmed Raza Kasuri said on Sunday that the former president would not make a scheduled appearance at his treason trial on Monday because of an on-going illness.
The 70-year-old was rushed to a military hospital on Thursday after developing what a police official called a “heart problem” while being taken to hear treason charges against him at a special tribunal in Islamabad.
“Everyone is aware of his sickness. The whole world knows that he is in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and the court also knows that,” Raza Kasuri said.
“We just have to make an oral request in the court that since he is not well, his presence should be dispensed with,” Kasuri said.
The ex-dictator spent his fourth day in the Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology (AFIC) in Rawalpindi.
The court had adjourned its proceedings Thursday and summoned Musharraf to appear on Monday, but Kasuri said he hoped it would now “exempt his personal presence”.
“The court is not making a special concession to Musharraf. It is according to the law. Human life is over and above justice,” Kasuri added.
Doctors treating Musharraf had sent his medical reports to experts in Britain to determine his further treatment at home or abroad, he added.
The goons of Musharraf forget the fact that if the former dictator is prepared to take 8 hours flight to London then why is too ill to travel a few miles to stand before the court?

So are the doctors in Pakistan so useless that they need British doctors to advise them. That says it all. Musharraf must be tried for treason. Justice is more important than his healthy because if he was found guilty of treason he must be be hanged to die anyway. Also he must pay the full cost for his medical treatment. Musharraf, his lawyers and the hospital where he is being treared are all liers without any credibility. Protecting, aiding and giving false information about his health is nothing but siding with a wrong person who has no regard for the law, insitutions and the country he enjoyed as an absolute disctator. What i have observed is that this is the most corrupt department in the country as without its support no department can perform corruption. Those advocating Musharraf’s release or his secure departure abroad or declaring him as “clean”, “innocent” etc are just behaving like JI’s Munawwar Hassan, who called TTP’s HakeemUllah Mehsud as “shaheed”.

The almighty Dictator opened the floodgates of CORRUPTION through LNG Quota Scam, Rental Power etc on which his NRO beneficiary PPP ruled the roost.
Musharraf created NAB but abused it to purchase the loyalties of politicians like Aftab Sherpao & Faisal Saleh Hayat etc. Not even a single penny was recovered from them rather they were made Ministers when they jumped into Musharraf’s camp (since 1999).
Musharraf created the unholy MMA (Mullah Military Alliance) and abused it to double-cross the West (since 2000).
Despite receiving highest military & economic aid from the West, Musharraf did not install any energy infrastructure project and threw the country into Lost Decade of Energy Corruption (since 2003).
Musharraf demoralized the Army by unnecessarily pulling it into civilian jobs. Not only that professional bureaucracy & technocracy was marginalized but Army was dragged into every field of life. Now Army is being blamed for mega corruption cases in Pakistan Railways (Chinese Engines, Royal Palms), DHA (Zarrar Zameen) and NLC (misappropriation of Rs1800 Million) etc.
Musharraf signed NRO, the worst deal in the history of Pakistan, to legitimize more than 8,000 cases of corruption (October 2007).
Musharraf imposed 2nd Martial Law in the Country, a unique record by any dictatorship not even in a banana republic, blacked out the media and jailed more than 60 judges along with their families (November 2007).
Now let’s put our own biases aside and hope & pray that the rule of law ultimately prevails in the country, the back door for dictatorships is closed and the doctrine of necessity is buried forever!
