Sindh CNG stations closed for 48 hours as strike looms

CNG filling stations were shut down across Sindh on Friday for 48 hours as transporters and CNG dealers announced to go on strike for an indefinite period from Sunday in protest against the government’s closure plan.

The Karachi Transport Alliance (KTA) and All Pakistan CNG Association (APCA) announced that strike will be observed from Sunday in Karachi during which all CNG filling stations will remain closed and public transport off the roads.

APCA Chairman Shabbir Suleman said that the decision of strike has been taken against the Sui Southern Gas Company’s (SSGC) schedule of closure in Sindh which he described as ‘undue’ and ‘annoying’.

The transporters said in a press release that they cannot waste time while waiting in queues for hours to get gas for the vehicles.

CNG filling stations were closed in Sindh today and will reopen on Sunday morning if transporters and CNG dealers did not go on unlimited strike.
