Huge amount of explosives recovered in raid in Chaman, two suspects held

A large quantity of explosives and weapons were recovered by the security forces on Friday in a raid in Chaman district of Balochistan, a private news channel reported.

According to security forces, the operation was conducted on receiving a tip-off from intelligence agencies. The security official stormed a house in Guldara Baghicha area of Chaman and arrested two suspects.

Security personnel recovered from the suspects about one and a half tons of explosive material, 100 explosive devices, 109 land mines, weapons, and other equipment.

Maps and documents related to Quetta and Chaman district were also recovered in the raid.

The suspects have been taken to an undisclosed location for interrogation. Sources have added that one of the suspects is an alleged member of a banned organization.

Situated near the Pak-Afghan border, Chaman is one of the two main crossing points for supplies for American and NATO troops fighting the Taliban in Afghanistan.

  1. Arms and explosives recovered….great ! But why the authorities are not going into the root cause….seal those areas from where these explosives material are making inroads into Baluchistan.
