Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan said that his party position is very clear on building of dams in Pakistan adding that the Awami National Party is just twisting the facts.
On Friday, Imran Khan, reacting sharply to Mian Iftikhar Hussain of the ANP for deliberately misrepresenting the PTI position on the Kalabagh Dam said the PTI position is very clear on building of dams in Pakistan that they must all be built after consensus has been evolved on them.
“For Kalabagh Dam also, I have always maintained that it cannot be considered unless there is a national consensus in favour of it. This is the long standing viewpoint of the PTI and of myself,” Khan stressed.
He regretted that parties like the ANP, who failed to deliver to the people of Khyber Pukhtunkhwa (KP) are now trying to revive their political fortune by misrepresenting the PTI and its chairman’s position on the dam.
Khan concluded that no project can be feasible if it creates divisions and antagonisms amongst the provinces. The PTI, as a national party, is equally sensitised to the interests of all the people of Pakistan and has always believed in the principle of national consensus-building, Khan reiterated.
