Snub that extortionist! Nab that kidnapper!

Regional Police Officer (RPO) Akhtar Umar Hayat Lalika has said that problems faced by the business community would be resolved on priority basis and no stone will be left unturned in this regard. He said that police is taking every possible step to control the law and order situation and succeeded to some extent as car lifting incidents have decreased in the city.

“Extortion and kidnapping for ransom cases are still there and the police have devised a plan to curb these kinds of heinous incident from the region,” he added.

He further said that Citizens-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) will be established soon and Rawalpindi Chamber will be given prominent representation in the said committee.

He was exchanging these views with the a delegation of Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) led by the President Dr Shimail Daud Arain here at his office on Thursday.

Former Presidents Sohail Altaf, Asad Mashadi, Senior Vice President Malik Shahid Saleem, Vice President Muhammad Alam Chughatai and member executive committee Rashid Waien were also included in the delegation.

Akhtar Umar Hayat Lalika said that business community was an asset for the country and the security of businessmen is the prime task of the police. He ensured his full cooperation to the president RCCI.

Speaking on the occasion RCCI President Dr Shimail Daud Arain said that police should use modern methods of investigation and help from forensic laboratories can be sought in this regard. He said business community was facing immense problems specially kidnapping for ransom has become a routine. He demanded of the government to take stern action against the offenders involved in such incidents.
