Minister of State for Information Technology Anusha Rahman has directed Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to make complaint handling system more effective and robust to take care of objectionable content and handling of grey traffic related issues.
The minister gave these directions during her visit to the PTA Headquarters in the capital on Thursday where she was given presentation on complaint management system of the authority.
PTA Chairman Dr Ismail Shah said that elaborate efforts were being made to provide hassle-free services to consumers and to resolve their complaints.
Meanwhile‚ PTA has issued instructions to all Cellular Mobile Operators to immediately stop call set-up fee recently imposed by them.
Mobile operators had imposed call-setup charges of ten paisa plus tax on each call last week and posted notice on their website about imposition of new charges.
PTA’s step is aimed at safeguarding customers’ interests. PTA has asked the operators to immediately stop these charges and furnish compliance report to it.
