Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has demanded the constitution of an independent medical board to verify whether former president Pervez Musharraf is suffering from heart ailment or not.
In his message on social media on Thursday Bilawal said, “All medical excuses must be verified by an independent board of doctors.”
“I can’t believe this coward ever wore the uniform of our brave and courageous armed forces,” he said in his twitter message.
Musharraf, who was to appear before the special treason court, was rushed to a hospital on Thursday. He left his heavily guarded farmhouse in the outskirts of Islamabad to attend the treason case hearing against him. But on his way he complained about chest pain. His convoy was immediately diverted to the Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology (AFIC) on Murree Road for a medical check-up.
Musharraf’s counsel Ahmed Raza Kasuri in his comments on media said that Musharraf would never have returned to Pakistan, if he was a ‘coward.’
Meanwhile, MQM Chief Altaf Hussain in a statement expressed serious concern over the reports about Musharraf’s health. He appealed to the masses to pray for early recovery of the former president.
