Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain has termed treason case against former president Gen (r) Pervez Musharraf as unconstitutional, sheer injustice and oppression.

Speaking to Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain by telephone, the MQM chief said that if the former military ruler was to be tried under treason, everybody who supported him whether they were army generals, judges or institutions should also be tried.

Hussain applauded Shujaat Hussain for his statement about Musharraf and said that other people should also shun hypocrisy and stood by truth. He said that Musharraf was being singled out, adding that “we should refrain from hatred, discrimination, and cruelty since these things led to dismemberment of Pakistan”.

  1. Don Altu has point, why not implicate him in ordering 12 May Karachi massacre. After all without consent from London, these massacres could never have happened.

  2. GENERAL Musharraf is being tried for treason. Frankly I wonder on what basis he is being tried. It was more valid to try him for the 1998 coup. But Sharrif and company don’t have guts for that.

  3. Same old tactic of beating around the bush by cronies of the dictator.
One day or the other he will definitely meet justice for all his misdeeds, ruining the country for 9 years and then NRO to waive 8000 cases of corruption.

The dictator took all the steps to prolong his dictatorship but nature has its own way of justice!
