The gas supply to all CNG stations in Sindh and Balochistan was suspended on Tuesday due to shortage and low pressure.
According to Balochistan Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) General Manager Haroon Rasheed, the gas supply will remain suspended for an unspecified period due to the acute scarcity of the gas.
The gas shortage posed troubles to the domestic consumers, therefore, the supply to the CNG stations has been cut off at the behest of Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloc, he said.
The SSGC GM said that the supply will remain choked until the frosty spell persists in the provincial capital.
Meanwhile, the CNG stations across Sindh, including Karachi were closed on Tuesday for three days.
According to the SSGC, the decision has been taken by gas load management due to shortage of gas.
The gas supply to CNG stations in Sindh would be opened on Thursday evening.
Large queues of vehicle were seen at the filling stations before the CNG stations closure.
The surveillance teams of the SSGC would examine implementation of the decision made by the company. According to rules and regulation, the CNG stations committing violation to the regulation would have to remain deprived of gas for another 24 hours.
