Rs 1.5m spent from national kitty on Mamnoon’s portraits

Around Rs 1.5 million was spent from the national exchequer on the portraits of President Mamnoon Hussain which would be put on the walls of President House’s lounge, a private TV channel reported on Monday.
Previously, Rs 0.9 million were spent on the portraits of former president Asif Ali Zardari.
A presidential spokesperson said that the issue would be investigated.
According to the channel, Mamnoon hired a photographer Qamar Pervez from Lahore for the photo shoot. Family members of the president also had their photographs taken by the same photographer which cost Rs 1.5 million. However, the presidential spokesperson said that the bill of the family members was paid by the family.
