QWP MPA arrested for intimidating police

Police on Sunday arrested Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) MPA Sultan Muhammad Khan from Charsadda for interfering in legal matters and possessing illegal weapons, reports a private TV channel.

According to details, police had arrested few people on suspicion for aerial firing at a wedding last night and Sultan – along with his five supporters – came to the police station to get those arrested suspects released.

The MPA and his supporters stayed at the station for some time and reportedly used intimidation tactics after which the police arrested them and filed a case.

After the arrest of the MPA, the QWP supporters staged a protest outside the police station. Security officers baton-charged the demonstrators and dispersed them.

Sultan was elected from PK-18, Charsadda, in the May 11 elections with 13,888 votes.
