The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has initiated steps to mobilise public opinion against terrorism, especially suicide attacks.
The PTI-led KP government has published and circulated a single-page leaflet, A Step Towards Restoration of Peace in Pakistan, based on religious edict of Mufti Azam. On December 12, Azam declared suicide attacks haram and un-Islamic.
Along with the edict, the page also carries messages of PTI Chairman Khan and KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak, Jamaat Islami chief Munawar Hassan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Senior Minister Sirajul Haq.
In the edict, Mufti Azam Sheikh Abdul Aziz termed the suicide attacks a great sin and said the suicide bombers would remain in hell forever. He also declared the suicide bombers as enemies of Islam and humanity.
Imran Khan and Pervez Khattak in joint message said, “This edict has made easy our task as it could help us in bringing peace back across Pakistan, especially in KP. All Taliban factions must follow this edict and refrain themselves from targeting innocent people.”
Hasan and Haq said, “… Taliban must review their acts and refrain themselves from terrorism, particularly suicide attacks. We consider suicide attacks inhuman and un-Islamic. All suicide bombers are occupants of hell and this inhuman act must be stopped.”
For the first time, the PTI and JI leadership have taken a bold stance against militants who are involved in terrorism, especially suicide bombings.

  1. This is a ray of hope from PTI and JI leadership. They expressing their sympathy over more than 50 thousands innocent Pakistanis who were brutally killed by the TTP, LeJ and SSP in the name of religion at public places and places of worship. All political and religious parties should clear their stance over the Terrorism by TTP, LeJ and SSP against innocent Pakistanis.
