Sindh Police Inspector General Shahid Nadeem Baloch has directed the officials concerned to ensure strict implementation of ban imposed on riding motorcycles without silencers and aerial firing on the occasion of new year – 2014.
The IG directed the officials concerned to ensure strict implementation of ban imposed on all those activities which are prohibited by the provincial government, said a statement on Sunday.
Practical steps should be taken by the concerned police officials in this regard at the range and district level, the police chief added.
He called for making full security arrangements at parks, sea views, busy streets, shopping centers, fast food outlets, departmental stores, amusement sites and other public places.
Effective and vibrant police picketing and patrolling as well as snap checking be also ensured at all these places, he added.
The Sindh police chief also directed to make concrete security arrangements at important public and private properties and sensitive installations.
He said a comprehensive security plan be prepared at district level in the light of experiences of the commencement of the previous new year eve (2013). He observed that the policing plans and strategies be devised in consultation with the representatives of civil society and business community.
Shahid Nadeem Baloch observed that the senior police officials would be able to monitor the performance of policemen with the help of district policing plan. It will help increase the confidence of masses into police, decrease the crimes and control law and order, he added.
