I am not accustomed to beg pardon: Musharraf

Former president Pervez Musharraf has said he does not know what he will do in case he is convicted in the treason case, but he is not accustomed to begging pardon for himself.
“I don’t believe in the politics of victimisation. If I am acquitted, I will not file defamation suit. If I am convicted, I don’t know what I will do. But I am not accustomed to beg pardon,” he said this while talking to a private TV channel.
All the cases instituted against the former dictator are politically motivated, he held. Norms of justice have been torn into shreds in what has happened so far, he underlined. “However, I hope that ends of justice will be met in coming time. I have filed petitions and I will take them to the Supreme Court,” he declared.
He said he had already seen this situation coming when the SC reinstated Iftikhar Chaudhry, adding that the matter should have come to its end then and there, but instead it fuelled even more. When Iftikhar Chaudhry was elevated to the office of the chief justice of Pakistan, it was done as per law that states that the senior most judge will become chief justice, he underlined.
Iftikhar Chaudhry did not do justice, he remarked. If it was matter of justice, then Articles 2 and 3 should also have been applied, he added.
“I was barred from contesting elections and was declared disqualified. Akbar Bugti and Lal Masjid cases were in line with the requirement of the then-government, he claimed. “All those who are sitting in Parliament are “Sadiq” and “Ameen” but not I?” he questioned.
Running the affairs of the government is the responsibility of the prime minister rather than the president, he said.
Asghar Khan expressed good wishes for him, but it was beyond his comprehension why he would talk against him, he observed.
“I have done a lot for peace in the country and for the uplift of the poor. Therefore, I have decided to return to the people. My vision was dedicated to Pakistan and the people of Pakistan. This was a political fact that the country was heading towards disaster. Everything has always been available the country but what lacked was political leadership. Therefore, I set up party,” he observed.
People were calling for a change, they were demanding a new Pakistan. Tahirul Qadri and Imran Khan have given proof in this respect, he said.
“Nobody brought me here, I came back to the country due to the day-by-day deteriorating situation,” he maintained.

Iftikhar Chaudhry was not a just man, this is not about justice, says Musharraf

  1. This is a real leader,a real patriot and a genuine man.
This nation believed all the lies against him, people need to get their facts
    straight.

Pervez Musharraf has always been a genuine man and a sincere leader for the country.

    • People like you are totally ignorant of history.
The former dictator Pervez Musharraf opened the floodgates of corruption through LNG Quota Scam (August2003), Rental Power (July2006) etc on which his NRO beneficiary PPP later on ruled the roost.
Musharraf created NAB but used (rather abused) it to purchase the loyalties of politicians like Aftab Sherpao & Faisal Saleh Hayat etc. Not even a single penny was recovered from them rather they were made Ministers when they jumped into Musharraf’s camp (since 1999).
Musharraf created the unholy MMA (Mullah Military Alliance) and used (or abused) it to double-cross the West (since 2000).
Despite receiving highest military & economic aid from the West, Musharraf did not install any energy infrastructure project and threw the country into Lost Decade of Energy Corruption (since 2003).
Musharraf demoralized the Army by unnecessarily pulling it into civilian jobs. Not only that professional bureaucracy & technocracy was marginalized but Army was dragged into every field of life. Now Army is being blamed for mega corruption cases in Pakistan Railways (Chinese Engines, Royal Palms), DHA (Zarrar Zameen) and NLC (misappropriation of Rs1800 Million) etc.
Musharraf signed NRO, the worst deal in the history of Pakistan, to legitimize more than 8000 cases of corruption (October 2007).
Musharraf imposed 2nd Martial Law in the Country, a unique record by any dictatorship not even in a banana republic, blacked out the media and jailed more than 60 judges along with their families (November 2007).
Now let’s put our own biases aside and hope & pray that the rule of law prevails in the country, the back door for dictatorships is closed and the doctrine of necessity is buried forever!

      • The abuse people of Pakistan has faced in the last 5 years is unbearable , The things you have maintained does not make much difference to a commen men of Pakistan . But work he have made is so much the best time i have seen to my life in Pakistan . Almost 4000+ people in Karachi got killed do you have roomers for them . You may be slave to them but we are not .LOOK what happened to Imran Khan Now its self beating the bush with Cheep Justise lolx

    • unfortunately we belong to a country where corrupt, fraudulent, liars, deceivers, cheaters, traitors become our leaders, chief juistice(Ex),chairmans,Anchors but sincere persons like Musharraf get humiliated

  2. If mushraf is guilty then iftakhar chaudhri should also be taken to court wht he did not orderd to hang any of terrorist in last many years why i will put the case on him also insha Allah and if nooras think they will trap musharaf they will have to pass over our dead body becz these politions always kill those who r petriotic now we the pakistanies will decide who is guilty mushraf or nooras

  3. Ya Allah pervaiz musharraf per apna karam naazil farmaa.. inki hifazat farma.. Ya Allah tu janta hai k yeh shkxx kitnaa mukhliss tha Pakistan sath.. Ya Allah madad farma.. Amin!

    • Musharraf and his other four generals are the crimnals of the nation who topple elected primeminister,It is a badluck of pakistan that some people believing dictator a gunuin leader,Musharraf should be punished in such away that next time no one army gen-would have think to insult the nation and defame the country,

      • I wish some new army general again do the same thing..unless we get rid of the chaudhries and waderas .. Throughout the history pakistan has always progressed under dictatorship.

      • Pakistan's real bed luck is having a ruling class that only takes and never gives.

By the way, Gen Musharraf is a great and sincere Pakistani Patriot whom I admire.
Keep you crooks in politics, I would support a man Like Musharraf any day

  4. Even the USA & UK have to bow down in favor of the desires of local public. They cannot afford to take wrath of the public at the cost of a former dictator, who is no more than a spent cartridge for them.
Same delusion was with Hosnie Mubarak and Moammar Qaddhafi. But they are drowned in the tsunami of public revolution against dictatorships.

    • Musharraf was a great leader who served this country more than any other rular in all parts of life,Governance, economics, education, politics, foreign affairs, health, cultural,as well as best basic democratic system.

  5. Musharraf is the best leader Pakistan ever had. He is not a hypocrite like present ruling leaders, Musharraf speaks truth.

  6. I would expect a man like General Musharraf to view with distain any suggestion of a mercy plea. He acted out of love for his country. Who has forgotten the decade wasted by the PPP and PML-N taking turns in running Pakistan into the ground? I haven't.

Musharraf Sahib made us proud to be Pakistani again and even our enemies respected him as a man of principal.
His error was including the corrupt ruling classes in his administration. I suspect that in his heart he hated doing it but was advised to do it by certain powers.

  7. PLEASE STOP DICTATING MR.MUSHARAF AS A DICTATOR .
HE IS THE BEST DEFENDER THE NATION HAS EVER HAD.
WITH OUT HIM YOUR PRINTING MACHINE WOULD HAVE
BEEN BOMBED AND THE NATION TURNED INTO STONE AGE

  8. Musharraf is a great human being and great leader. He is honest, brave, straightforward and since with Pakistan. This is why he is being humiliated by CJ and NS, but he will be victorious ultimately and those who are playing a dirty game with him will reach their destination one day.

  10. Look, let us get over it. Musharraf is quite right when he says that he is not accustomed to beg for pardon but he has not refused one —-has he?. He has admitted making mistakes and apologized. This qualifies him for one.
The late President Ford pardoned President Nixon who was facing impeachment.. The president of Pakistan can do the same. Most of the people in Pakistan and outside do not think Musharraf can get a fair trial. At least this is the perception. The man has served his country well. Who does not commit mistakes. Some are intentional while others are unintentional–period. New year is around the corner– let musharraf go! Pakistan has other pressing problems to tackle.

  11. They want to convict Musharraf first and then pardon him by banning him to take part in politics for certain period as they are afraid of Musharraf popularity in public.
