Jamaat-e-Islami chief Munawar Hasan on Monday urged Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to explain how his assets doubled in seven months of his tenure.
Addressing the Friday congregation at Mansoora mosque, he said the PM’s present assets were two times of what he had given to the Election Commission of Pakistan at the time of elections. Hasan asked Nawaz to inform the people about the lucrative business that had helped him double his wealth within months so that others could also adopt it.
The JI chief remarked that the assets list of the lawmakers proved that elections in the country were the job of feudal lords and capitalists and a middle-class man could not even think of that.
He said the recent meeting of the Pakistan-India DGMOs was an indication that the ceasefire line was being accepted as the permanent boundary and the rulers were heading for the surrender of Kashmir. He said the nation never gave the rulers the mandate to betray the Kashmiris. He said if the country could not afford a war with India, it also could not become Indian slave.
Rejecting New Delhi’s allegations about terrorism, the JI chief said that India did not need terrorism from outside as it was self-sufficient in that regard as there were dozens of separatist movements in India. He said that Kashmir was a disputed territory and any Indian ploy to convert the ceasefire line into a permanent boundary would not be accepted. He said Nawaz was working on Indian agenda. He urged the people to be vigilant and be prepared for a massive movement against the rulers.
The JI Ameer said the army operation in North Waziristan under the US pressure was a plot to bury the chances of dialogue with the Taliban for good. He reminded the rulers that North Waziristan was different from Swat, Boner and South Waziristan.
The people of North Waziristan had not been cowed down despite persistent drone attacks and the government won’t be able to impose the US decisions on them through army action.
He said the tribal people had offered unparalleled sacrifices for the country but they were being punished for their love for this country.
Hasan said Bangladeshi Premier Hasina Wajid’s sole ambition seemed to save her country from falling in the hands of “Islam lovers”. He said those who executed JI leader Abdul Quader Molla knew that this time they would not be able to deceive the people, adding that the 18-party alliance was destined to win the upcoming elections. The Bangladeshis were protesting against Hasina Wajid’s policies and her days were numbered, he added.
