The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Wednesday released details of assets declared by members of the National Assembly, with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif being the richest lawmaker having declared assets worth Rs.1.824 billion.
Mehmood Khan Achakzai, the chairman of Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party, takes the last place in the category of party heads, having the least amount of assets, with only Rs 0.5 million cash.
According to details issued by the ECP, the prime minister also owns 1,754 kanals of land and four vehicles. PTI Chairman Imran Khan owns assets amounting to Rs 20.96 million.
The total assets declared by JUI-F chief Fazlur Rehman are worth Rs 29.06 million while the assets declared by PML-Q leader Pervaiz Elahi stand at 197.09 million.
AML chief Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed has assets worth Rs 41.8 million.
Opposition leader in the National Assembly Khurshid Shah has Rs 26.09 million worth of assets.
The assets declared by Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Amin Fahim include 306 acres of agricultural land held by his wife and children in Hala, five bungalows in Defence Karachi worth Rs 63 million, a farmhouse in Rawal Town Rawalpindi worth Rs 13.6 million, jewellery Rs 4.8 million and furniture worth Rs 3.8 million.
The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Dr Farooq Sattar’s assets stand at Rs 3.64 million.
National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq has assets worth Rs 172.03 million.
Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif possesses assets worth Rs 424.07 million. He is named the richest chief minister.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak has assets amounting to Rs 232.03 million whereas Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Malik’s assets are worth Rs 40.04 million.
Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah has assets worth Rs16.02 million.
On the other hand, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar has not provided the details regarding amount of this property.
